On Day 1

Congratulations, it’s your first day ✨! Before you can dive into the wonderful world of the Graphics Team tools, however, there are a few things to sort out. In particular ⬇️

✔️ Onboarding call with HR

They will reach out to set this up before your first day. This is likely to be over email, and they will use your personal email. Check with your manager if you haven’t heard by the day before your start date. The call (or in-person meeting if not remote) will likely cover:

  • Company overview
  • The main internal HR systems that you need to know about. More about this later.
  • Overview of benefits and the TR pension scheme
  • Anything you need to action immediately (e.g. updating payroll information, benefits selection etc.)
  • Anything else of immediate importance, such as Covid-19 and work from home policies
  • Q&A

🇬🇧 In the UK

The following, as well as other key points, are covered during this call:

  • You can contact HR directly at ukipeople@tr.com. Response time is 48h. You can ask them about all sorts of things like benefits, immigration, Workday, leave of absence, time off, etc. There is also an HR contact who is assigned specifically to your business area. (Is this Angelika for the UK/Graphics?)
  • You should send the benefits enrolment form to the ukipeople email within 30 days of starting.
  • You get paid on the 15th of the month for that month (i.e. get paid 2 weeks in arrears and 2 weeks in advance). At some point during your first couple of days, you should get an email from Workday which is automated which will prompt you to input your bank details.

✔️ Access your New Hire Onboarding Dashboard

You should receive an email about how to access your new hire onboarding dashboard, which lives on the Workday HR system. This will contain some useful links and to-dos for you. Some of the information is a repeat from your onboarding call. All of it can be found elsewhere, or is a link to a relevant site. However, this dashboard is meant to make it useful for you to get started and find important things, and is kept relevant to you at the point in time when you start. It would be a good idea to have a look and keep checking until you no longer feel like you need to.

Notes & Tips

  • Don’t worry if you haven’t finished the steps in the Before Day 1 section. If you don’t manage to completely set up your new computer with all the required software, you will still be able to join the HR onboarding.
  • Likewise, if you haven’t managed to install the required software, as long as you have your Employee ID, password and email, you will be able to access Microsoft 365 apps in the browser. Just make sure you can log into your email and Teams.
